OBJECTIVES

As the Inland Water Transport is most economical, environment friendly and employment generating mode of transport the growth of the sector is inevitable in the near future. Development of expertise and appropriately educated and skilled human resource is essential for growth of the sector. NINI is to take leading role in education and training in the IWT sector to become centre of excellence.

Further when Inland Water Transportation gets integrated with coastal or sea transportation the economy and efficiency is further enhanced. In order to promote Inland Water Transportation, smooth migration of the IWT manpower to coastal or ocean going sector and to optimally use the modern training facilities at the institute. NINI will provide training to manpower in maritime sector.

NINI plans to achieve its vision by adopting an integrated and inclusive approach by involving all stake holders, entering into partnerships with national and international universities, institutions, consultants and professionals.

The management of NINI is fully committed to achieve highest level of customer satisfaction by effective control and continuous improvement of its processes. At the outset NINI aims:

To develop employable trained manpower and provide upgradation education for inland navigation, river engineering, dredging, Hydrography, surveying, vessel repairing and maintenance by imparting quality training.

To attract, select, train human resource for the sector on national basis.

The human resource at the institute is its asset and will play a key role in realizing its vision. NINI will provide appropriate upgradation education and training.

The training vessels in and off campus are unique teaching facilities in development at NINI.

The Quality Policy is used as a means to ensure that every member of the organization understands and works towards the institute’s vision and quest for quality.
